Sandy From Melrose Place Is Probably Going To Prison
Remember Sandy from the first season of the original Melrose Place (eff me in my colostomy bag hole, I'm old)? Sandy was the Southern trick who was trying to be an actress when she wasn't trying to get a piece of Jake's crotch? Sandy was replaced by that lesbian (you know she was and still is) Jo after only 13 episodes. Amy Locane, the actress who played Sandy and was also in Cry Baby, went to act in a bunch of movies you've never heard of well. Well, Amy is under the spotlight once again! Specifically, under a spotlight in the interrogation room at the Somerset County Police Department in New Jersey. You see, Amy was arrested last night in Montgomery, N.J. and charged with second-degree vehicular homicide.
The L.A. Times reports that Amy's Chevy Tahoe crashed into the side of another car as it was trying to turn into a driveway. The passenger of that car was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was flown to a hospital and is listed in critical condition.
Earlier in the night, Amy rear-ended a different car. As the driver of the car called the police, Amy got into her car and drove out of there. The driver followed Amy and witnessed her knocking over several mailboxes.
Amy later told police that she sucked down several glasses of wine before she got into the car. The officers at the scene said she was slurring her words and had glassy eyes. Amy's bail was set at $50,000. If convicted of the charges, she faces up to 10 years in the clink. The law states that Amy would have to serve 85% of the term without parole.
Amy has two kids and is married to a LIQUOR STORE OWNER (that deserves all caps).
If Amy was busted in California, they'd only sentence her to 60 days without highlights and tanning. But since this is going down in New Jersey, bitch's next role will probably be playing Jane in the women's prison production of Melrose Place: The Musical. Hey, at least she's playing Jane. That's an upgrade.

She faces UP TO 10 years in prison? That is the most she can get for killing someone? Doesn't seem like much of a punishment to me. It's a slap in the face to the family of the person she killed. The problem nowadays is that the punishments are way too lenient.

The worst part is, she'll probably only serve less than two years. Makes me sick-- especially when she was in one of my all time favorite movies, School Ties. She was so cute back then!

Yes, she is in big trouble, but she's not getting 10 years. Jayson Williams shot a guy and will do less than 2. Donte' Stallworth was drunk and ran over a guy and killed him and only got a few weeks (because the guy was jay walking). She evidently has no prior record and the other driver MAY have cut in front of her. She will have a chance to plead to 1-2 years or maybe less.
I think she looks pretty cute in he mug shot. BTW, if you have seen pictures of her husband you have to wonder WTF. He is a big fat ugly slob.
If the other driver made an illegal turn into the driveway, I don't think it matters at that point anyway cause the bitch already hit another car, ran from the scene and then did a number on several mailboxes on her way to killing that person and jacking up the driver. She was already in the process of committing a crime and like others have said, she was probably speeding to boot if she couldn't stop in time plus hit them as hard as she did. Fuck her. How could you hit so many things and not pull the hell over? She deserves to get the max sentence and then some.
It's a damn shame. Loved her in Cry Baby, even though she was majorly upstaged by the gorgeous Ricki Lake. Oh well - be horribly irresponsible, and you WILL suffer the consequences. Life 101.
She screwed herself. No pity for her. How hard is it to get someone to drive her drunk ass? Wow, her kids obviously meant ALOT to her.

I fucking hate drunk drivers. No matter who they they are, they made the choice to drive and should be held accountable. In the late 80s, Matthew Broderick, who used to be my favorite closet case, was driving drunk in the middle of the night in Northern Ireland and killed a mother and daughter after hitting them head on. He was initially charged with causing death by careless driving and faced 5 years in prison but was convicted on the lesser charge of careless driving thanks to his lawyers,fined $175 and sent back to the U.S.. The victims family called it a travesty of justice. I can't stand to even look at him now.
I am sad for her kids. They are toddlers and are going to spend their most informative growing years, without a mother.

If someone is pulling into a driveway - it means she didnt slow down long enough to let them complete the turn. We dont know the facts on what kind of turn was being made. Was it a residential driveway? There are so many houses that are off main roads - and you have to slow down quite a bit to make the turn into your OWN driveway. If they were backing OUT of the driveway - then they could be at fault for not seeing the "drunken vehicle" coming at them. But MK clearly states they were pulling into a driveway and she hit them in the side. The bitch is in the WRONG. Why would pulling into a driveway be considered an unsafe move? Sorry - that doesnt even make sense. He didnt say they were making an illegal K turn !!!!

Just read up on her life, and she has two very young children. Toddlers. And prior to this, she'd been featured in a few fluffy profiles in which she described her life as idyllic - and it sounded like it.
