Naomi Campbell Is Going Bald
Years of getting her weave yanked out in chunks in the middle of the night by ornery minions has taken its toll on Naomi Campbell's scalp. During a photo shoot in NYC yesterday, the wind tried to wig snatch Naomi which gave us a glimpse of the bald patch on the side of her head.
The Daily Mail brought in a Trichologist (not to be confused with a Trickologist) to examine the pictures of Naomi's situation. He said that all the stuff Naomi glues, staples, tapes and braids into her hair has caused it to break (Thank you, Dr. Obvious). The Trichologist added that this has happened to Brit Brit and Posh too.
Naomi should just shave everything off and work the bald look. That bitch can pull it off. Besides, doesn't she get sick of having to tie her weave into a ponytail when she's about to beat a disobedient maid with her Blackberry? Naomi can pounce without having to worry about her extensions getting in the way or her victim grabbing onto that shit. Naomi can be fightin' ready at all times! Thankyouverymuch.

One of my clients is the top ethnic hair care experts in San Diego, a white woman from Australia who used to be a nurse that decided to become a damaged hair expert restorer. I have heard alot of stories from her and african american women who have literally DAMAGED their scalps and killed their hair follicles with chemicals (both professional, over-the-counter and homemade ghetto ass concoctions of household and automotive chemicals), braiding, extensions, electric kettle steaming and the grossest shit ever is the fungal infections and ringworm from rotten weaved in wiglets and full on wigs!!! Google that shit in Google images if you are brave. My boyfriends mother is black and she has never messed with her hair, she can go 70's afro to flat ironed silky without any chemistry. Her hair is moist and soft. Not the janky mangey shit like Naomi has. I am pretty sure Tyra is balding, too.

LOL! As a person of mixed race I don't let ANYBODY touch my hair. I'm sure it's better now but when I was a kid - white people had no clue and would try to do weird things to it and cut it like straight hair which does NOT work. And then black people would either want to process it (which it totally doesn't need) or cut it all off. No one offered me a weave tho. I wouldn't have taken it - the first weave I ever saw was on my white friend and her hair fell out. NO thank you!
Finally a friend of mine who works for a magazine scored me a makeover with an internationally winning hairstylist or some shit. She almost had my hair exactly too! Her scalp has been like this for many, many years, so I am shocked that it is only now really being discussed.
As for relaxers on black hair? You can get the same look of completely straightened hair by pressing or flat ironing it, but a relaxer lasts longer than that. However, it is even worse for the hair. Even when I did/do blow out my hair regularly, it is never more than once a week.
And now I have a mohawk, so all that upkeep is moot.

It is very common for black women int he entertainment industry to wear weaves and wigs to protect their hair, because it has only been MAYBE the past 15 years that Hollywood has learned how to light people of color on screen, and hair care is another dilemma entirely.

I've worked many a production where my hair was jacked up (for weeks). Things haven't improved that much because certain films don't hire enough Black hair stylists or those familiar with Black hair.
I learned my lesson and now don the weaves.
To prevent breakage, I take breaks in between however and will wear my relaxed hair out in the fall.
As for Naomi going natural. She's going bald and can't grow hair along the edges. Wigs are the way to go, or just shaving it all off.
But like some have said here, this could be karma for her behavior.
