Rich Cronin From LFO Passed Away
The 1990s just lost a little piece of its heart today. Rich Cronin, one third of the boy band LFO (That's "Lyte Funky Ones" if you like to keep things formal), has gone off to heaven where you can eat as much Chinese food as you want without getting sick. Rich was only 35 years old.
Rich was diagnosed with leukemia in 2005. Rich's brother tells TMZ that he passed away in the hospital this afternoon after suffering a stroke.
I don't have own any Abercrombie & Fitch, but I'll slip on the old khaki cargo shorts from The Gap I sometimes use as a rag and choreograph a somber dance to Girl on TV like I did back in the day. Yes, I was over the age of 18 back then, but now is not the time to judge. Rest in peace, Rich...
And JLove's vajazzled fupa is not sparkling today :(

RIP Rich. I loved LFO. I still have their CD's somewhere. In his memory I will find them & listen to them. So sad that he suffered for so long. My condolenses to his family & friends.

I wouldn't know an LFO song if it walked up and bit me on the ass, but it sounds like Rich was an all-around good guy. It never ceases to amaze me that all the great people get called to heaven before all the twits (Paris Hilton, I'm looking at you), and that's something I'll never understand. Rest in peace, Rich -- your struggle is over.

He also said that Lou Pearlman just came up with the idea of creating all these boy bands just to sign up all these hot, young guys that he could take advantage of. He got the idea when NKOTB were still huge, but he never had any idea that any of his bands, like BSB or NSync, would become huge themselves. He basically did it, so he could f-ck these teenage boys. Really sick :(

Sad about this dude. Although I was never an LFO fan, they were cute and seemed like decent guys.

He said that she cheated on him with several guys (he never knew the exact number). She took them (or some of them) to the same hotel and gave them "infinity rings" and promised they were the one. He discovered through US magazine that she was cheating with at least 7 other guys. She refused to discuss the matter(s) and ended the relationship 3 days later after an apparent "rehearsed" discussion and blamed him for treating her bad. At least one other ex-boy-band member had the same experience as he did and when they did a documentary (?) or reality show together he confirmed all this info to Rich. Even though he discovered all this about her years later he was still hurt by it.
He also states that she isn't the type of girl/woman who would stick by someone going through chemotherapy.
He says she wasn't nasty or adventurous in bed for the most part, although she looked good naked and had a nice looking vajayjay. She made him wear 2 condoms when they had sex.

OT: Cancer truly is an equalizer taking rich, poor, black, white, young, old and it's tough to see/hear anyone suffering from cancer's stronghold. It must be small comfort to his family that he's no longer suffering, and they must feel like they lost part of themselves with him today. God be with them as they mourn and with him today.

I'm not going to pretend I liked LFO and some of the things this guy might've done, but Leukemia is always a terrible way to go, my sympathies, and I hope that he rests in peace and that his final days alive were comfortable and happy ones he spent with loved ones.

I don't know the guy and I wasn't a fan of LFO when they came out, though I do remember them. It's very unfortunate and I feel sorry for his family and the things he must have gone through before he died. He will be missed, and hopefully he's in a better place now.
What's really sad is that he got a bone marrow transplant in 2005 and his leukemia was in remission. He created the Rich Cronin Hope Foundation for those who've been through the same.
He was trying to make a come back as LFO but this is from his 2008 solo album.

Hear, hear. I had to double check the date on the Stern interview since I thought for sure it must have been from before he got sick. To think that someone who'd been through what he had could retain that kind of good humor and positive attitude without any self-pity is impressive. I can't manage to do that WITHOUT cancer.
Back from the days when JLove was still a mystery woman and before she went all bedazzled on us. Truth be told, she looks awesomely cute in this video.
As for Cronin, I'm deeply sorry that he had to battle through all that and still lose the fight. In a fair universe no one would have to.

I'm watching these videos & I feel really fucked up because idk....He just reminds me of my youth and I guess it makes me think of my own mortality. Cancer really ravaged his body, as someone else on here said. He looked like a completely different person when he was on that boy band show on VH1 just a couple years ago, but he was determined to keep going and I thought he had beat his cancer. He was always so kind and down to Earth. It is incredibly sad when good people like him go.

I won't pretend I know who he is (I really don't know); but losing your battle against cancer at age 35 after a five year long fight, is just plain tragic.

I actually liked these guys and this is coming from someone who couldn't stand the boy bands of the 90s. They were different somehow, low profile, talented, and not annoying. I also bought their cd.
