A Model Goes Down At Burberry

When are 12-year-old girls with ankles the size of napkin rings going to learn how to walk in 6-inch stilts on a floor slicker a Mastiffs' tongue?! This would've never happened to Suri Cruise!

I hope she is ok. It wasn't as entertaining as the model who fell through the runway floor. MK posted that clip a few months ago. Now that was funny...

I read that they were 8" heels, not 6". They also had platforms. They are higher than any "stilts" worn in the 70s and 80s, trust.
*************************************************

Watch the clip again sweety those were no where near 8" maybe 5" at best. And yes there were MAJOR heels back in the days I lived through them..all you have to do is watch the clips. bourgie made a great point by showing that clip of crazy Naomi in some insanely high-high heels that show was back in the 90's!

The classic has to be the Naomi Campbell fall at the Vivienne Westwood show years ago. Remember models are not supposed to be naturally gracefull, they are PORTRAYING the women who will be buying the clothes. Sometimes the casting in a show doesn't always work:

WOW, Namoi was GORGEOUS! THAT was the supermodel, eh? I mean, she looks good now but my gosh, she was stunning.

Bossy's picture

Heels hurt to walk in and mess up your feet...if it weren't for how fabulous they make legs look and how feminine people perceive you when you wear them (What's up with that? You're girly because you suffer for style? Why do guys think that's hot?) I'd consider giving them up.

She's human, good for her. If I had to get sodomized by the likes of Terry Richardson, I'd say, "to hell with it" too and take off the other heel. I used to covet Dior Homme when Hedi Slimane was still running things but after he left and after I found out the ugliness behind the industry, I stopped caring about fashion altogether. Lagerfeld can suck it. He might be able to wear women's jeans now but he's still not hot. Never was, never will be and no amount of money or praise can ever change the fact that his ugliness runs bones deep.

Heels today are so ridiculously high, far greater than the 90's, that's for sure. The 90's weren't particularly "high-heely." I remember going through some old shoes the other day (from the 90s) and couldn't believe how short they seemed compared to the 5" that seem to be the norm nowadays.

Now seriously, the shit those fashion designers make those girls go through is BRUTAL. If I had to do endure that just to get my paycheck, I'd act like a cunt, too. And I'm not talking just the starvation part. I'm talking cruel agencies who tell you you should still lose weight, even though you don't even get your period anymore. And rapey photographers. Really glamorous, right?
------------------------------------------------

I don't feel sorry for models, especially the western ones. No one's forcing you to do it. You can walk away and go to school or work a regular job like the rest of the world. And I'm sure the work environment is probably just peachy at the JCPenney catalog. No starvation and rapey photographers there, lol.

with that type of ugly 17.....17.....ugly music that omg just listening to it makes me sick and that weird mirror *which reminds me mirrors and sex oh yeah...* but damn and lol it looks like she popped something out her ass at the 0:10 mark so much for high fashion *i know i know its from the jacket or something but its funny* POOR GIRL LOOK AT THAT CUNT ALMOST AT THE END WITH HER ARM ON HER CHIN SMILING AWAY....

Love the cold blank stares from the front row audience. Oh, and the studded jacket the model is wearing? It retails for 7,995 pounds sterling.

shandi's picture

Isn't it the fault of the designer? He picks the stupid floor, the stupid shoes, the ridiculous clothes. And the music, if you can call it that. That guy was just screeching "seventeeeeen" over and over. Who would want to sit through this shit?

I think some of us here are being a bit too harsh on the gays in fashion. There are plenty of women, with or without the influence of gay fashionistas, who will suffer greatly in the name of beauty.

I grant you that gay designers may add some zealousness to the industry, and yes some testosterone, but general aesthetics and human competitiveness is something much more universal.

Watch some runway shows from the late 70's, 80's and 90's and watch some women work the hell out of some stilts. These girls have no clue, they are all throw away dolls. Here today gone in a hot minute. Bye Bye... watch and learn you little ho's

It's a wonder her calcium starved get away sticks didn't snap. She probably has the wax the downy hair off of every square inch of her body to model anything other than turtle necks and ski wear.

I'm not going to say anything like if you aren't built like Christina Hendricks you're built like a man. That's a bullshit dichotymy that, if you ask me, is just as detrimental as the fashion industry promoting anorexia. No comments from the peanut gallery.

However, I've never been keen on fashion and the supermodels I'd actually consider attractive are relatively far and few. There used to be a standard. Notice how Christy Turlington, Cindy Crawford, Iman, and the like have moved on from high fashion modelling to promoting makeup, hair/skin care later on. It's because they have the face and genuine good looks to back themselves up once they got too "old" for high fashion modelling.

I'm sorry to say, but I feel the same way about the "big names" from Victoria's Secret too. To be honest, the only ones I feel are that truly beautiful are the ones I never hear about. I don't find Giselle Bundchen, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio (sp?), or Miranda Kerr that attractive either.

High fashion is so silly. I'm all for gay rights, but those who are solely men-oriented should steer clear of women's fashion. Women's fashion should be designed for and showed by WOMEN (you know, hips, breasts, the lot). Save the UNDERAGE TEENAGE BOYS for your extracurricular fantasy life.

Co-sign what you said!

This is my beef with fashion now: Women are playing drag for the amusement of gay fashion designers who care not a whit for the attractiveness or comfort of the female form. I bought the September 2010 issue of Vogue (the first one I've purchased since 2007) and was disappointed by the parody and camp. How the fucking hell is a woman supposed to walk, let alone look attractive, in six-inch heels? And the ugly hoof-like platform pump that's been popular for the last two years? Really? Does anyone find that a good look?

Now I understand what Coco Chanel was referring to when she derided gay male designers. She talked about the campiness and discomfort they called fashion. She saw Dior's "New Look" as a return to the corset she liberated women from. That's why she said "Fashion fades, style doesn't."

PEOPLE THE SCREECHING CAT IS ANNIE LENNOX FROM EURYTHMICS . the title of the song is

17 AGAIN"

Yay though we venture through
The Valley of the stars
You and all your jewelry
And my bleeding heart

Who couldn't be together
And who could not be apart

We should've jumped out
Of that airplane after all
Flying skyways overhead
It wasn't hard to fall

And I had so many crashes
That I couldn't feel
At all...

And it feels like
I'm seventeen again
Feels like I'm seventeen

Times might break you
God forsake you
Leave you burned and bruised
Innocence will teach you
What it feels like to be used

Thought that you'd done everything
You didn't have a clue

And it feels like
I'm seventeen again
Feels like I'm seventeen

Looking from the outside in
Some things never change

Hey hey I'm a million miles away
Funny how it seems like yesterday ...

All those fake celebrities
And all those viscous queens
All the stupid papers
And the stupid magazines

Sweet dreams are made of anything
That gets you in the scene

And it feels like
I'm seventeen again
Feels like I'm seventeen

Sweet dreams are made of this
Who am I to disagree
I travel the world and the seven seas
Everybody's looking for something
Yea

I do like Annie Lennox, can you tell?

I think she got distracted by the mirror image, when you walk down the runaway you're practically blinded by lights and adrenaline which gives you the 6th sense to coordinate your body, she probably took a good look at herself in that hostile environment and lost concentration,

But of course, that behavior is reserved for models who've sucked enough cock/poon to the top.
