And here's a little clip from Maury that reminds us all that 2012 isn't that far away and society is going to go out with a BANG! 13-year-old Cel’andrea (Ironically, that sort of sounds like the name of a birth control and herpes simplex drug in one which has been banned from the FDA and can only be found in certain pharmacies in Algodones, Mexico) tells Maury that she sends naked pictures of herself to boys and that SNOOKI is her idol. Yup, we're fucked.
It's a good thing that Hairspray took place in the 1960s, because Cel'andrea is exactly what Tracy Turnblad would look like if it was set in the Jersey Shore era.

As a former horrible teen girl, I can tell you that what is needed is for the parent to PARENT the child. My mother just let me take control of the situation and gave a half ass attempt to stop me. I ask her to this day why she didn't put her foot down (figuratively and literally) and she says she didn't want me to hate her. And that she had other things going on in her life (a man). I have a 13yr old daughter. I'll be damned if she acts like that. She can hate me all she wants. She'll love me for it when she's my age. We're not here to be their friends...and that's what is wrong. I have had parents tell me that they don't tell their kids no because it upsets the kids....
"Cel'andrea" is going to look odd printed on her doctorate.

I know so many people are against spanking a child, but this is the result of a lack of discipline. I'm not talking about beating your kid, but a few pops on the ass would cure that shit.
When I was that age, I had my brief moment of rebellion, but even still there is no way I would've ever disrespected my mother like that. She did not play. I raised my daughter the same way. I was much more lenient than my mother, but my daughter when she was about 14 decided to fight me. She lost the fight. Didn't have any more problems like that from her, either.

I only made it through about half the clip but the mom didn't seem that "upset"...and of course I'm taking it out of context so I very well could be wrong. The mom probably loves Jersey Shore herself...it all just seemed SOO fake (of course, it's Maury). I have no doubt that there are tons of girls out there who want to be just like Snooki and Jwoww...ugggh. When I see things like this I am glad I don't have kids.

For those who don't want to watch this, the saddest part of the clip is when Maury points out that the year before she was the most popular girl in school and was making good grades. When he asked her "What happened?", she responded "I gave up". I wonder what happened? The answer to that question, if addressed properly, could save this girl's future. Very sad.
