Golden Voice Has Quit Rehab
Ted Williams, the homeless man turned America's sweetheart, vowed to Dr. Phil earlier this month to get clean, hop off the bottle for good and not take this second life opportunity for granted. Dr. Phil set Golden Voice up at a rehab facility in Texas and he was supposed to stay there a few months to deal with his addictions to booze and the bad shit. We weren't supposed to hear from Golden Voice until he sashays out of rehab in a few months and victoriously sings into the skies causing a flock of nightingales to fly around him. That's how the fairy tale was supposed to end. But the real truth is that Golden Voice has given a giant FUCK YOU to the medical professionals treating him in rehab and checked out of there after only two weeks.
TMZ says that Golden Voice is on his way to the airport now. Destination unknown. His girlfriend is also in rehab in California, so maybe he's headed there. There's also a chance that he's head to California to personally punch Dr. Philofshit in the DURR dome for sending him to a rehab facility that doesn't keep their kitchen stocked with Mac & Cheese. That would be considered a happy ending too.

I truly hope for the best for Ted, and I hope the media will leave him alone and let him work out his demons in private. He needs a good social worker more than anything else. You cannot take an addict/alcoholic who has been on the street for years and just thrust them into the limelight. Halfway houses exist for a reason. He needed to slowly get acclimated back into society.
The fairy tale ending is not to be, I guess. You can give people all the help in the world but until they realize it for themselves what needs to be fixed then there is no resolution.
And it would be a shame because he is clearly talented, but the demons will always be there in some shape or form.

Now I need to see the interview with his mother to see her expressions. I am not surprised that she did not get her hopes up again. There are only so many times you can put up with someone's addictions until you give up on them entirely. I had a bad feeling about this guy from the start, especially after reading about his ex-wife having four daughters alone while he continued to fuck up his life. It is hard for me to forgive deadbeat parents and people who aren't responsible enough to get their act together for their own kids' sake. When I found out he had lied about being sober, that was it for me, but I thought that he would at least try to stay in rehab this time around since the whole freakin' world was behind him, he was now in a really expensive luxury rehab facility, and had millions of dollars riding on him getting better. When life presents an opportunity like this, you better pull your shit together whether you want to or not. And he has a girlfriend who is also in rehab?! He needs to stop acting like Lindsay Lohan and cut these toxic people out of his life once and for all. If he doesn't it will only be his fault when he winds up bankrupt and homeless again. I wish someone would give me a huge break to become rich and famous simply because I can say a few lines with gravitas.

When I started at AA I was told to go to 90 meetings in 90 days, can't speak highly enough about the program (and I HATED the whole idea off AA until I needed it).
Maybe he is sabotaging himself because as soon as he got a little bit of fame, his kids showed up with their hands out. I wonder if any of his kids worried about him on freezing nights when he was sleeping on the streets?
I agree with most of you. Dr Phil is not the right dude to go to or nor does he have the right to tell someone else what to do. I saw some clips of Dr Phil and Golden voice, most of Dr Phil's crap was bullying in many ways. you cant scold someone on doing something they don't want to do.

I had hopes that Ted would be able to get clean and stay clean but I've been around enough people on the bad shit to know that the odds are stacked. Don't underestimate the brain damage that occurs as a result of drinkin and druggin ... sometimes they wanna change but just don't have the rationality or the inclination left to do it, no matter what. They get so far down in that hole that it IS their new normal.

You have to have burned every bridge, alienated every friend and family member and government support agency and faith-based charity and soup kitchen for your ass to be out on the streets.
