Open Post: Hosted By A Tranny Taco Fight
In continuing Dlisted's theme of featuring hard bitch battles in high-end gourmet establishments, I present to you a full-out drag queen brawl that cracked taco shells and spoiled refried beans at La Fuente Mexican Food in San Diego, CA. Drag queens fighting over tacos!!!! There's a metaphor in there somewhere, but I'm not about to go in.
But seriously, the news says that these queens tussled with their tucks out after they started arguing about who had the better body. Lesson learned. Don't ever tell a San Diego drag queen you've got a better body than she does, because wigs will fly, dick-tucking panties will rip and everyone will hit the floor together (you know they choreographed that move). This is what backstage at a Destiny's Child reunion would look like.
If Vh1 ever asked themselves the question: "Do we really need another Charm School hosted by RuPaul?" Let this video be their answer.
(Thanks to everyone that sent this in)

They are saying that 4 trains full of commuters were swept away.
And 5 tsunami sightseers were washed out to sea at Santa Cruz. Really? Were people that stupid?

I'm surprised the trees are withstanding the force of the wave(s). I wonder if any were left standing after it had receded.
No kidding. How'd you like to be in one of those houses or cars by the beach? When I lived in Japan, I knew a couple who lived in Miyagi Pref., but inland (among the rice paddies and frogs). I took the train out there on a few weekends.

I saw the first pic this morning, but I'm still wowed by it. I'm surprised the trees are withstanding the force of the wave(s). I wonder if any were left standing after it had receded.
News update. State Emergency Service has issued a warning to expect more surges anywhere from 3-8 feet here in SC, should hit at 5pm and another at 7pm.
Great.
That is when I'll be at the other job.
SoCal barely got brushed, but the tide swept out of Ventura Harbor before the real waves hit. Sightseeing idiots walked out onto the "dry" sea floor a couple hundred feet from shore.
@M.E. Riiiight - because curling next to something big & strong will ensure that nothing falls directly onto you, only on its side, next to you, and it will make you a cute little temporary home.
This sounds like Real Housewives giving their daughters advice on how to curl up next to a strong and sturdy man, and a house will fall next to them if they hold on tight.

Isn't there another female who posts from Japan? She's usually on toward the evening, and she an animated girl with black hair as an avie. She's been a member for a long time, but I'm blanking on her name

You have a good memory, Mike, I had forgotten about her. However, I cannot remember her name, either. Hope she's ok, wherever she is.

sugar freeRB - The "new" safety for earthquakes is to curl up next to something like a couch/bed, that way if the building collapses you will have a little "room" since the debris will kind of "tent" around you.
Does that make sense?

Sugarfree - I am amazed at how many people are down ON the beach right now.
I agree with you. That said, I can recall my younger self going surfing when there were rip current warnings due to a hurricane offshore.
I thought about Hotmami and her little girl,(?) all day. I hope they're ok.

Hi, M.E. Perhaps NOT clearing them off is how the coast police is allowing Darwin's theory to ride the wave.
And I remember being told NOT to stand in a doorway recently.
The only thing I DON'T remember them changing is to cover your neck with your hands. Yeah - like a BEAM from the ceiling won't slam through your 2nd grade wrists of steel.

CSG: here's a great link from FEMA (dun dun dunnnn), but if you scroll down, it lets you know what's up.
I'm about 45 mins from the coast in California. Some stupid SHIT HEAD in N. California went to take pictures of the waves adn WAS SWEPT AWAY - coast guard is looking for him.
So add "DON'T TAKE PICTURES OF TSUNAMI" to Fema's list.

I am really hoping that since hotmami is on an army base (I'm assuming) that they will be well prepared to deal with this catastrophe.

"my brows could subtract that WTF look on your face so move along"
Just wanted to check in to see if anyone has heard from Hotmami? Does anyone know her IRL and might have an update? It looks like she was posting with Fraggle up until about 2 hours before the earthquake hit. I'm sure she has so much to deal with, coming to dlisted is the least of her worries, but I'm praying that someone hears something from her soon.
Also (((HUGS))) to Hello Kitty - I'm so glad to hear your hubby's safe, that must be a huge relief.
Hopefully MK will start today's OP soon so we can find out how people are doing.

Awful. Horrific. Just...so tragic and freakish, caprica.
Nobody here has heard from Hotmami yet and I hope we hear something from her soon. To think we were the last ones to converse with her here before 'it' happened is freaking me out bad but I'm trying to keep positive and hope she is OKAY but just can't get access to a phone or the internet etc. :(

@Hotmami, let us know you are ok over there. I know you were on here last night for a while, but let us know you are safe, please!!!!
What U B-F said! :(
I know what MK is going to post today: security video of booze falling off shelves.
Sonne, thank you. It's just a matter of waiting for paperwork to go through ,so I can travel to Tokyo, maybe another 2 weeks :(
But I am lucky that my hubby is okay. But I feel sad for those who have lost their loved ones or are still missing. My heart goes out to them.
I don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight...

I hope you will be able to see your husband soon and it's good he's safe.
For all our other d-listed family affected by the earthquake and tsunami, sending good thoughts and prayers your way.
I was in such a panic earlier. I'm in Beijing, my hubby is in Tokyo. Thank God, I was able to make contact with him. he told he couldn't go home from his company because no train service and lines for taxis are insane.
I was supposed to join him in April, but I can't wait. I need to be with him now...
I feel sick to my stomach...I won't be okay until I see him on Skype.

I'm going to have to amend that post - they're now saying the entire western seaboard of America is at risk. Apparently there are some Pacific islands that are below the level of the expected tsunami. Fuck!

People are evacuating in Hawaii...it (the tsunami) would be here in about 7 hours if it hit. I don't want to cross Mother Nature but I think the newscasters are loving making this a 'panic' story for the west coast.
////////////////////
I think they might be panic mongering - only the west coast of South America is being mentioned here as being in any danger.
Hawaii can't take any chances they are in the direct path.
Probably the footage coming out of Japan has everyone overly concerned.
There's going to be a run on the liquor stores in the morning!

That's scary! Our Bureau of Meteorology has just said that despite the Japanese bulletin Australia and it's islands are under no immediate threat.
I think Hawaii could be in danger - it would hit there first, wouldn't it?

Our news service is talking to someone trapped on a bullet train. They all came to a grinding halt with the earthquake. The commuters have been stuck in there for hours.

Just got the emergency broadcast alert on TV for the Tsunami warning for California Coast...
The tsunami surge shots remind me of the recent Queensland floods - those poor people didn't stand a chance either. You can't run from something moving that fast. The sheer volume of water and debris is a death sentence. There's going to be a horrible death toll.

I'm torn between watching footage...and wanting to build my underground bunker. This looks SO bad though. This is awful. I know I will be up on and off all night trying not to worry, watching the coverage, and then thinking about the west coast tsunami warning (doubt anything will happen). The images look so devastating from Japan. My heart truly goes out to the people in Japan.
Becky- DListed just keeps crashing on me. I don't think it's my internet connection because other sites are running just fine except for this one.
On that note, I'll probably be back in a little while.
