I hear you. It irks me too, but some of them are family or practically family, so....

I give the benefit of the doubt by reasoning that they're using handheld devices with autotype and such, and are typing in a hurry. (I'm guilty as charged myself sometimes.)

Also, I frequently pepper my writing with ebonics, "Lolspeak", etc. I'm no Shakespeare. lol. I embrace the idea that language is always evolving.

However, I mourn the fact that basic grammar is dying in the process.
