Bea Arthur really did tango off to heaven yesterday. My soul is still weeping. Mostly because it hit me out of nowhere. And also, Bea was a true talent in every sense of the phrase. The simple fact is that Bea just wanted to entertain and didn't give ten shits about being famous. A born performer who didn't take herself too seriously. There really aren't many like her left.

Yesterday, both Betty White and Rue McClanahan released statements about the passing of their friend.

Betty told ET, "I knew it would hurt, I just didn't know it would hurt this much.. I'm so happy that she received her Lifetime Achievement Award while she was still with us, so she could appreciate that. She was such a big part of my life. I have dearly loved her for a very long time. How lucky I was to know her."

Rue told Radar, "Thirty-seven years ago she showed me how to be very brave in comedy. I'll miss that courage and I'll miss that voice."

I'll miss her voice too. It always lulled me to sleep. I raised a dozen glasses to her last night and I'll raise a dozen more today!

I was just got back from boozing in the sun to find my e-mail box filled with the terrible and heartbreaking news that the iconic Bea Arthur has went off to the great big lanai in the sky at the age of 86. I was not ready for this!

A rep for Bea said she died peacefully in her sleeping this morning at home. Bea had cancer, but her rep didn't give any specific details as to the cause of her death. Her personal assistant, Dan Witt, said, "She was a brilliant and witty woman. Bea will always have a special place in my heart." In mine as well.

Some know Bea for her role as Maude, but I know her as one of my best late-night friends, Dorothy Zbornak on Golden Girls. Seriously, I feel like I lost one of my bestest friends! After coming home from a drunken night, I could always count on Bea and company to lullaby me to sleep with their brilliant and touching way with comedy.

Thank you for being a friend, Bea. You will be missed and your genius will live on forever! I mean that. And tell "ma" we all said "Hi."

Now if you'll excuse me, I must drown the pain away with something strong. Maybe a cheesecaketini. Rest in peace, Bea.....

Back in the day when caveman roamed the Earth, Larry King could change his own diaper and the internet was still a toddler, there was a thing called GeoCities. GeoCities was a place where everyone could go and build their own website in a quick minute for free. Actually, it probably took a few hours, because of that dial-up crap. Well, GeoCities is now dead. A truly sad day on the world wide webs.

GeoCities took my webmaster cherry and turned me into the full-blown webmaster WOMAN I am today. Sadly, I couldn't find my old site and don't even remember what it was about. I didn't cuddle with it as much as I should have, because I spent most of my time doing ho shit in AOL chat rooms. Memories.

The sad tale of Rubina Ali from Slumdog Millionaire getting sold to the highest bidder is over for now, because police in India have released her father. Rafiq Qureshi was brought in for questioning after Rubina's birth mother complained to the po po that he was trying to sell their daughter to a sheik for $300,000. A senior police officer in Mumbai told Reuters, "So far there is no evidence of any offense, hence there is no registration of complaint and no arrest." Translation: Rafiq is giving us a cut of the sale.

Rafiq blames the evil doers at The News of the World for trying to knock his ass down to sell papers. Rafiq told People it was all a "lie made up by foreign journalists playing games with me." The News of the World never released the video footage they supposedly have of a fake sheik and Rafiq discussing the sale of Rubina.

For Rubina's sake, I hope some mean ass whores were just trying to sabotage her daddy and he wasn't trying to pass her for a dime. Besides, if you're going to sell off your child wouldn't you immediately go to the two biggest buyers of babies in the world: Vadge and St. Angie? Duh.

Well, here's a truly fucked up and sad story for a Sunday. The News of the World (I know, I know) claims that 9-year-old Rubina Ali, one of the stars of Slumdog Millionaire, has been put on the auction block by her daddy Rafiq Qureshi. OctoMommy, don't get any ideas.....

The News of the World got all Dateline NBC on Rafiq and sent an undercover reporter to pretend to be a sheik (Why am I picturing Ann Curry as the sheik?) interested in buying Rubina for around £270,000. They did this after finding out a deal between Rafiq and a family in Dubai to buy Rubina fell through.

Rafiq told the fake sheik that he has no choice but to sell his daughter, because the producers of Slumdog never made good on their promise to buy the family a house and get them out of the slums. Rafiq told the fake sheik, "They haven't looked after us. They gave some money at the start but they gave us nothing afterwards. They gave us around 150,000 rupees (£2,040). They've been talking about giving us a house, but all they do is talk. What they showed in the film is exactly how life is here. The government doesn't help us. We get nothing. We live in one room, seven of us sleep on the floor. I earn £2 to £3 a day. I have to consider what's best for me, my family and Rubina's future. We haven't got anything yet, it's all supposed to come later!"

Danny Boyle and the producers of Slumdog have already said that they set up a trust fund for the kids to pay for their education and housing. In addition to that, a sound engineer who worked on the film bought each of the kids an apartment in South India. But Rubina's daddy still claims they haven't seen shit.

After finding out about this fuckery, Rubina's mother showed up to Rafiq's house this morning and demanded that her daughter be removed. Rafiq denies trying to sell his daughter, but his second wife said a foreign woman offered to buy Rubina and they turned her down. This led to Rubina's mother and her stepmother punching and choking each other out in front of the house!!

Save the Children was quick to respond and asked India to sign up to to the International Labor Organization's convention to help stop the selling of children to the highest bidder.

And somewhere in the world, Angie Jolie is raising her hand and asking, "Does he accept PayPal?"

I've heard several stories about William Hurt being a major asshole and boozer, but I really didn't know he was a lady beater. In her new book, Marlee Matlin claims that William Hurt beat her ass constantly during their 2-year relationship in the 80s. This shit makes me sad, because I've always had a weird thing for William Hurt. Especially in Body Heat. Well, fuck.

Marlee says that the night she won the Oscar for Children of a Lesser God, she had bruises on her body from William beating her. She told Access Hollywood, “I was afraid. I was always afraid… of him. But I loved him. I did. Or maybe I thought I did. But look, I was 19, he was 35. We were together for two years. We lived together and it was one of the most… He’s one of the most complex persons that I’ve ever dealt with. But, at the time, living with him was different than anything I’ve ever experienced.”

Marlee said the abuse was so bad that she had fresh bruises on her body every day. She never called the cops to report his ass, because she was a cokehead at the time and the bad shit was fucking with her thinking. Marlee said, "The drugs took over my life, took over my brain. I was 19 and I was alone in New York City. I had no friends there except my drug dealer. I could say that I understand how women are afraid to leave an abusive relationship. Former porn star and Ivory Snow model, Marilyn Chambers, has died at the young age of 57. AVN says Marilyn was found dead yesterday inside of her trailer in Santa Clarita, California by her daughter. The reason for her death isn't known right now, but an autopsy will be performed.

Marilyn was the star of one of the most legendary fuck films of all-time and forever Behind the Green Door. I think I've seen it a dozen times just for the glorious scene starring soaring semen. All jizz should glide through the air like that.

Shitty news for a Sunday morning. Farrah Fawcett has been in a Los Angeles hospital since last Thursday and is in critical but stable condition. That's what sources tell Radar anyway, so who really knows. Friends say Ryan O'Neal is with her and she's currently unconscious.

Farrah was diagnosed with cancer in 2006. She later said her cancer went into remission. Farrah just got back from Germany where she was undergoing stem-cell treatment.

Last week, I was watching one of those entertainment shows like The Insider and Farrah was on bitching about the paparazzi. She looked good, so hopefully this is just a tiny little setback.

Jade Goody has passed away at the really, really young age of 27. Jade passed away in her sleep early this morning, Mother's Day in the UK, after a short battle with cervical cancer.

Jade died at her home in Essex while surrounded by her family. Jade's mother told the press after her daughter had passed, "My beautiful daughter has gone to sleep, has gone."

Jade is survived by her husband Jack and her two young sons Bobby, 5, and Freddy, 4. The fact that she leaves behind two little boys makes this especially sad and tragic.
