JHud's Next

Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson will play fellow Oscar-winner Forest Whitaker's daughter in "Winged Creatures" which is shooting now in Los Angeles. She joins Kate Beckinsale, Dakota Fanning, Guy Pearce and Jackie Earle Haley.

The story follows the witnesses to a brutal murder suicide in a fast food restaurant as they cope with the aftermath of the incident and how they affect the people who help them along the way.

Please tell me JHud plays the corpse and Dakota plays a detective.

Grindhouse is Going to Suck Now

Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez were forced to trim their highly anticipated gorefrest "Grindhouse" after they were in danger of getting an NC-17 rating. The star-studded film is broken down into two horror shorts featuring Rose McGowan, Fergie Ferg, Kurt Russell, Rosario Dawson, Marley Shelton and a bunch of other hos.

The rating committee forced producers to cut gross-out scenes like a dude getting his head chopped off while getting head from his girlfriend.

BORING! Bring on the blood and sex. I love that nastiness. I mean, an NC-17 rating doesn't mean anything anymore? People will still go see that.

I just really hope Fergie Ferg gets it in this flick. That will make the price of admission completely worth it.

Cate Out, Gong In?

Last week it was reported that Cate Blanchett signed on to play the female lead in Geriatric Jones and the Missing Walker. This week it seems that Cate hasn't officially signed on and is still in the talking stages with Steven Spielberg. What's there to talk about? Oh yeah, cash.

The latest name floating around is hotness Gong Li. Gong has been offered a role in the film. Shia LaBeouf is apparently confirmed as Harrison Ford's son. Sean Connery is apparently also in talks to reprise his role.

Why do I care about this movie so much? I guess I have high hopes. If they add Gong Li to the cast I'm buying my tickets now.

I Hope There's No Sex Scenes

Adam Sandler and Kevin James play two Philadelphia firefighters who pretend to be gay in order to receive domestic partner benefits in "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry". The movie hits theaters on July 20, 2007. It also stars Jessica Biel, Steve Buscemi, Dan Aykroyd, Tila Tequila and Richard Chamberlain.

Great another straight-playing-gay-for-laughs movie! Boat Trip anyone?

"300" Made a Boat Load

"300" was the #1 movie this weekend bringing in a mind-boggling $70 million. The movie was shot entirely in Montreal on a green screen and had a budget of around $60 million. Adapted from Frank Miller's graphic novel, "300" stars Gerard Butler as Leonidas, king of the Greek city state of Sparta, who leads his vastly outnumbered men against the Persian invaders.

"Wild Hogs" dropped to #2 from last week with $28 million and "Bridge to Terabithia" was a far #3 with around $7 million.

Ok I get why hos went to see "300", but who the hell is going to see that hogs movie? Are the same people that went to see hogs, the same people that eat krispy kreme ham sandwiches?

Hopkins as Hitchcock?

hopkins.jpg Ryan Murphy is a busy man. The Nip/Tuck creator has his hands full with his FX TV show as well as directing "Need" starring Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts. He's added "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" to his schedule. Ryan will direct the film about Alfred Hitchcock and the troubles he faced in making "Psycho." The script was seen as way too dark and perverse, especially his twist of the lead female star getting killed off after 45 minutes. Anthony Hopkins is reportedly already in deep talks to play Hitchcock and Helen Mirren is apparently in talks to play his wife and collaborater Alma Reville. This sounds hot, but please don't let them make the same mistake as Gus Van Sant with casting Anne Heche as Janet Leigh. God awful. Source

Aaron Eckhart is Two-Face

aaron.jpg Aaron Eckhart has been confirmed to play the villian Two-Face in The Dark Knight. Jake Gyllenhaal, Justin Timberlake and Jamie Foxx were all rumored to have been interested in the role. Aaron joins Heath Ledger as The Joker. Christian Bale will reprise his role as Batman. Maggie Gyllenhaal's name has come up several times over the past few days as the leading candidate to replace Katie Holmes. Katie has decided not to dance with Batman a second time around. Aaron is hot and I dig it. Maggie however is fugalicious and can play Two-Face after his accident. She is no leading lady type. Source

The New Indiana?

indiana.jpg Ain't It Cool News is reporting that Shia LaBeouf will reportedly play the son of Indiana Jones in the fourth adventure. Shia's character will apparently be taking over the franchise from Harrison Ford. Shia will star in Transformers this Summer which is produced by Steven Spielberg. Steven is directing the fourth Indy. Production is expected to begin this year with a 2008 release. Sean Connery, Karen Allen and Natalie Portman are all rumored to join the cast. I'm actually excited for this mess. I love Indy and I'm a little skeptical to see Harrison's old ass trying to dodge boulders and shit.

America Loves Fat Suits

fatsuuits.jpg

I am kind of shocked! I thought Norbit was going to tank at the box office. Nope! It brought in an amazing $33.7 million to score the top spot. It also proved that fat suits equal box office gold. Big Momma's House 1 and 2, Tyler Perry's Madea's Family Reunion and The Nutty Professor all opened above $20 million.

So all you gotta do is put on a fat suit and you'll be guaranteed a winner!

Sienna as Barbarella?

sienbarb.jpg

Dino De Laurentis' remake of the classic Jane Fonda sci-fi movie, Barbarella, has gotten its director in Peter Webber. He recently helmed Hannibal Rising. Dino also produced the original movie and described the new one as "Female James Bond in Space." Shooting will take place at Morocco's CLA studios.

Now that the script is being worked on and there's a director, names are being dropped left and right. The name that keeps coming up the most is Sienna Miller. She's apparently Dino's first choice as the title role.

A source said, “Dino feels this is the right time for Barbarella to return and Sienna is the lead contender. She's sexy but can act at the same time — much like Jane Fonda.”

Wasn't Aeon Flux sort like a female James Bond in space/future? Give the role to Sienna! The movie's gonna suck anyways might as well take her down with hit!
