Penny and Pedro to Reteam

Penelope Cruz is in talks to reteam with her Volver director, Pedro Almodovar. Penny has previously worked with him on All About My Mother and Live Flesh. Pedro's new movie called La Piel Que Habito is based on a French novel MyGale about a plastic surgeon that takes revenge against his daughter's rapist.
One of the producers said, "It's 70 to 80 per cent to be Pedro's next (project). But Pedro always worked on several ideas at the same time, and he has a second screenplay on the go as well." He also said that the role he has in mind for Penny is much darker than any role she's played before.
She was recently nominated for an Oscar and won Best Actress at the Goya Awards which is Spain's version of the Oscars.
Penny needs to stick with Spanish films, because that's what she does best. Has she even been in a successful American movie? Vanilla Sky? Sucked. Sahara? Sucked. Captain Corelli's Mandolin? Sucked.
Katie Holmes is Actually Going Back to Work?!?

Tom Cruise has let his little pet out to actually work...a JOB! I know, pretty shocking. Katie Holmes has signed on to star in Mad Money opposite Queen Latifah and Diane Keaton. The film is based on the British movie Hot Money about three female employees of the Federal Reserve that plot to steal a load of cash that's about to be destroyed. Filming will begin shortly in Shreveport, La.
Mad Money will mark Katie's return after "giving birth" to Suri Cruise. Katie has chosen not to return to her role in Batman and has dropped out of The Dark Knight. The Christopher Nolan directed sequel hits screens next year and stars Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Michael Caine and Gary Oldman.
So...she's choosing to do some cheesy comedy instead of a guaranteed money maker? Yeah, that's the work of the Cruise.

Plot: Scarlett Johansson plays some nanny to some rich hos played by Laura Linney and Paul Giamatti. Laura Linney is a straight-up monster boss and the kid she works for is a major a-hole. Think The Devil Wears Prada meets Mary Poppins or something. Alicia Keys plays one of her friends.

Meryl Streep is a Dancing Queen

Meryl Streep will star in the feature-film version of the Broadway hit Mamma Mia. The International hit musical uses the songs of ABBA to tell the story of a single mother of a young girl who doesn't know who her father is. The daughter tries to find out who her father is and invites three candidates to her wedding in Greece.
Theater director, Phyllida Lloyd will make her film directing debut. Shooting will begin shortly in London and Greece for a 2008 release.
What's gayer than gay? Meryl Streep in Mamma Mia the movie! I don't even know what to say. Hopefully since Meryl is involved it won't be that bad. She has made bad movies in the past, but she can usually turn a sour movie good.
Oh Really?

Old people alert! Billy Corrigan of Smashing Pumpkins and Courtney Love attended the L.A. premiere of Freedomwriters aka Dangerous Minds 2 with Hilary Swank and McDreamy last night. Billy and Court are a match made in bloated heaven! I mean they should fart into my car. It would provide gas for days. They are puffy! Hills is horse hot as usual.
Who the Hell is Going to See This Shit?

Last night was the premiere of Code Name: The Cleaner which stars Cedric the Entertainer, Lucy Liy and Nicollette Sheridan. Surprisingly, it's not going to straight to DVD. It's about....oh like you care! Nobody's going to see this trash. Lucy Liu looks seriously hot even though she has a wonky eye working overtime. Nicollette looks like...well like Nicollette.
Brangelina's Considering a Mr. & Mrs. Smith Sequel

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie met on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith and are now considering doing a sequel. The film is already being turned into a TV show for this Fall. Brad Pitt has apparently talked with studio executives about picking up where the film left off and showing the couple as parents. The TV show will not feature either Brad or Angelina.
The two also toured a Panama gallery yesterday. Some are saying that Angelina might be pregnant, because she's sporting a small bump. Damn, a girl can't have a little bloat in the moat? Damn. They look hot and happy and blah blah blah....
Isn't His Ass Too Old for This?

Harrison Ford will don the khakis yet again for Indiana Jones 4! Shooting will begin next year for a 2008 release. George Lucas confirmed that he's finalized the final script with Steven Spielberg.
He said, "It's going to be fantastic. It's going to be the best one yet. Mostly, it's the charm of Harrison that makes it work." Harrison's old ass is 64, but George insists he's fit enough to work. He promises that the next one will be filled with many mysteries.
Yeah one of the biggest mysteries will be how on Earth an old ass like this is doing these stunts? Calista Flockhart should totally sign up to play a mummy.
