The Next Drag Superstar Has Been Crowned!
The third season of RuPaul's Drag Race came to a close last night after Ru, Michelle Visage and Santino named the most gorgeous woman on reality television (Sorry, Gaycrest, you tried)! When I watched (SPOILER ALERT) Manila Luzon and Raja standing there waiting to either collect a giant check or be banished into the Interior Illusions lounge where they had to clean up the discarded plastic cups and get the judge's their coats, I kept hoping that Ru would dramatically get off of her throne (made of the shellacked tuck panties of contestants' past) and beg Elmo for forgiveness for wearing the carcass of his lover Big Bird on her body.
Once Elmo granted Ru forgiveness, she would move on to more important business and declare that she made a huge huge huge mistake. Ru would let out a high-pitched "HOOTIE HOO" (that is like the Southern bat call, right?) that would traveled on the slivers of the wind all the way to North Carolina. Miss Stacy Layne (Bryant) Matthews would hear the call and magically show up in a tornado of swamp water. Ru would rightly declare Stacy Layne the new reigning queen and the toads of the south would burst into a chorus of congratulatory croaks (like the Kiss The Girl scene in The Little Mermaid). I mean, who can deny a beauty who looks like a pantyhose doll and has skin like a beige pair of L'eggs. But this didn't happen...
Raja took that shit and everybody could see it coming like a cum shot from a man who has just said, "I'm cumming." Raja can stomp like Naomi, pose like Gisele and I'm sure she'll take over for tired Tyra as the new host of America's Next Top Catalog Supplement Model. But even though Raja won a check for $75,000 and side-eye throwing rights, Manila gave the line of the year when she said: "I'm runner-up. If Raja dies of old age, I'll get the crown!"
Done.

Raj or whatever the fuck his name is looked like a MAN IN A DRESS. PERIOD. Nothing about him would remotely PASS as a female. Alex and Manilla were ROBBED. I guess because his ass has been doing "drag" for years got him the pity win. Manilla was right, if he DIES she is the winner.

I didn't see season one when it first aired, but I have seen quite a few of the episodes online, and in regards to Nina Flowers, I recall her being fierce, but giving up. So I don't know how she was 'robbed' when she gave up.
Actually it was "Shannel" who gave up after making it to the top 4 (or 5?). Nina Flowers made it to the final 2 and was deemed to the runner-up. Totally robbed.
And yes, I'm slightly obsessed with this show. lol.

I loved this season. I think this was the best season yet talent wise. I was a Raja fan from the get go, but grew love for Manila and especially Yara Sofia. At the end I kind of wanted Manila to win, but wasn't upset with a Raja win.
Shangela was beyond annoying and didn't deserve to be in this competition. You don't have to be crass and mean to be 'real,' and Shangela wasn't real anyway. She said she would say to your face what she said behind your back, but that wasn't always the case.

Umm are you kidding? Alexis was so insecure that she had to talk shit about every single person in the cast behind their respective backs. She was ruthless and cruel, making fun of Carmen's nose, Raja's eyes, Stacey and Delta's weight, Yara's accent, etc, etc...
Also, Alexis was one of the least fashionable queens that I've ever seen. She consistently wore overgrown mullets on her head and dresses from local Mexican beauty pageants.

I've watched all seasons of Drag Race and I really love the show. Commenters need not be "proud" of themselves for not watching this show. Be proud you don't watch the Apprentice, be proud you don't watch the Real Housewives of Orange County, but you should never be proud for turning a blind eye on the elegance, beauty, and realness that is the Drag Race.
I loved all the competitors, but my heart went out to Alexis. I loved her confidence, huge wigs, outrageous costumes, and her smile lit up the room. She was the most honest and lovable of all the queens.
If the competition was based on performance, then either Alexis or Manilla would have won. Alexis killed it all day and all night during the final round of competition; I think her "southern" aesthetic is what prevented her from winning. Manilla had the better costume and did a better job lip synching for her life in the final round. If the competition was not based on favoritism, Manilla would have won.
However, Raja brough a unique quality to the show. Her concepts were fresh and unique, her feminine costumes were gorgeous (not so much about the boyish ones), and she will be interesting to watch in the future. If one of these girls were coming to NYC, the one I would go see is Alexis. Hands down.
Alexis, girl, I hope your man in the military comes back to you!
If you think Raja is catty, you must have not been watching the Untucked episodes...Alexis and Shangela were BY FAR the meanest, cattiest, rudest bitches this season. Raja and Manila were so sweet in comparison to those nasty whores. LOVE YOU RAJA. TEAM HEATHERS.

Stacey Layne Matthews is utterly disgusting. Take a look in the mirror and shed some pounds off! Ure so fat u cant even reach ur genitals with ur hand! What a creepy hybrid between a human, a swine and a walrus!
Jocks in frocks was the only episode I truly enjoyed this season. :( Mr. Mercury is so right saying this season was yawnerific. The fun left the building except for the jock episode. I wanted Alexis to win because Raja is such a catty bitch but whatever, it's reality tv. Agree that Nina Flowers was totally robbed. A gentleman AND a lady. :)
I like RuPaul but damn this season was dull and lacking in surprise.

That is exactly the problem with the Shangela fans -- they don't give a shit about drag. The "look" is the *most* important part of *performing* DRAG -- it is men dressing to resemble women -- Jesus fucking Christ on a Cracker. An alleged drag queen who doesn't know drag 101 make up & wig skills is *not* a drag queen but a tired little boy in a dress.
And Ru did her own hair & make up before she became the star she is today. You obviously don't know shit about Ru either.
I stopped watching when Shangela went home. I couldn't care less if her look was shabby, she was the best performer all around. The others couldn't hold a candle to her talent-wise. How do ya'll think Ru would look if she had to do her own hair, makeup and costume? And Raja is a professional makeup artist? I've seen better makeup on corpses.

yes, exactly! i hoped for manila to win but... in the last couple of episodes it was clear she would become the new juju bee. great, but not the winner. and imo she was the most entertaining queen in this season, i loved her sarcastic comments.
BUT, in raja's defence: manila completely screwed up the final lip sync. i mean what was she doing? she just stood there as if she'd given up, while raja was totally taking over the stage.

I LOVE this show. Raja was my favorite from the start and I am happy with the final 3. I think compared to other reality shows this one focuses more on creativity and talent rather than drama.
Shangela and Stacy Layne were waaay out of their league! My 13 year old niece can draw on her eyebrows better than Shangela and that was only one of her many problems when it came to getting in full drag on the show. How was she able to get on TWO seasons? I just don't see the appeal.

Nina Flowers was Season 1 -- but yes, she was robbed.
This year, there was no robbery, IMO. All 3 queens were equally fierce in their own "style" (unlike other seasons -- I'm looking at you Rebecca Glasscock --S1 and Tyra Sanchez -- S2). Any one of them winning would have been ok. It just so happened that the more unique one did.
Shangela sucked ass -- every single time on the runway with those awful wig lines, ill-fitting clothes & her beard popping threw her make up she looked like the punch line to a gay Cinderella joke. Also, she was a drama vortex -- always circling around, throwing drinks & getting in people's faces on the pretext of "being real." Bitch, please. Grown ups don't have to express every single thought/feeling/emotion at the moment they are having them like a 2 year old in order to be "authentic."
Someone definitely helped Shangela with her hair & make up last night (probably Raja who helped her with all that on the S2 reunion) because she doesn't look like her usual busted self.
After 3 seasons, Ru finally got it right & the best queen didn't get the runner up slot (ala Nina Flowers & Raven). Raja had me at day one when she showed up in that cyclops hat. Fierce doesn't even begin to describe her.
Shangela was robbed. She was my fave. Alexis is totally awesome too.
This is one of my fave shows to watch ever.

You would think with him being the oldest one competing that he would be above that...anywho I loved Stacey, loved Yara, loved Alexis and Shangela has a big mouth...can't wait for the reunion...

I loved that we both used the word real to describe Alexis!!! This third season just seemed more forced and not as fun, but I kept watching. The Raja win was predictable, but disappointing. Meh.
And is Ms. Stacy channeling some Mariah?
Everyone knew Raja would win from the start. Why even go through all histrionics of having the show when there's a shoe-in. Raja has a successful career with his make-up artist to the stars gig, and Americas next top model gig. He wasn't the best dresser, most beautiful or the sexiest; just the most shocking. It would of been so much more meaningful if someone other than an industry "Pro" would of made it.
It's hilarious that MK mentioned "The Little Mermaid" because the main pic instantly reminded me of Ursula from that movie...
Two black and one East Asian winner so far is not diversity? If anything it shows that race is not even a factor in the decision-making of this show - which is the way it should be.
I guess what qualifies as "diversity" in entertainment today is a black person winning a contest show only once every four seasons as a novelty; everyone is happy when THAT happens - just as long as it doesn't happen more often right?
I disagreed with Tyra's win last season though. Raven was the best. Raja's win was surprising, because so far they've gone for two "pageanty" winners, so I thought Manilla was a shoo-in.

The "jocks in frocks" episode was the fucking funniest shit ever.
Plus in the All-American challenge or whatever, when Raja came out (excuse me) wearing that Native American outfit with the sunglasses on I pretty much died.
This is one of the best shows going right now. I only started watching it last week, but once I caught up I immediately downloaded seasons 1&2. The challenges are great, the transformations are pretty mind-blowing (to me anyway), and I'm pretty enthralled by Ru Paul's charisma. I feel there is a lot more to be learned from Drag Race than any other show on TV, a lot of it has to do with self-acceptance etc.
I would have been happy for either Manila or Raja to win. Manila's comment at the end made her the winner for me though.
When I glanced at those pictures I could fucking SWEAR this was a Kardashian post. Especially that exquisite beauty in pic #6.

It was so obvious and boring that raja was going to win from the beginning. I was hoping to be surprised....this season was so boring.
OMG people, this show rocks. A show replete with catty stereotypical divas who tuck their junk like there's no tomorrow and are generally all around gorgeous bitches that are creative as fuck, what is there not to love?
Anyway, it was totally obvious Raja was going to win. She's the most talented and creative one. i was really routing for Yara or Shangela, because they kept it reeeal. Manila was so annoying.
I liked Raja the first 2-3 episodes, then she showed her real colors and they were catty and ugly! Shangela looks great, the best ever and love her/him!
