Was anyone else stunned by the almost magical way the newborn roaches transformed from compact little nothings to full mini-adults in like mere SECONDS? I was not expecting that, that was cray.

Insects don't gross me out. I watched that whole video while I was eating lunch.

I have a near phobia of cockroaches but these hissing ones don't bother me. They just look so different. I actually held one once when a man brought all kinds of insects and various small animals to a kids bday party (I also held a scorpion and walked around with it on my hand so people at the party could see it up close).
I'm going to Mexico in a few days and I'm nervous because I know I'll see lots of water bugs (and flying roaches too). *shudders*

I have a fear of roaches so I can't even bring myself to watch this. As a young girl my house had tons of roaches. Once, I sat down on the couch and about 3 roaches came out the cushions from all directions. That's just one instance, there were many more. And we were clean but I don't know, they were everywhere. Flying ones are the worst.

I did watch the entire 5 minutes of the birthin' video. It was nasty but I couldn't turn away. Also, prior to today, I never saw "Honey Boo Boo Chile". Thank you MK for enriching my life so much.

Now, in speaking of bees, it seems Monsanto has bought a company that was doing research on colony collapse disorder; a problem that is lessening the amount of pollinating bees in the world. Some people are speculating that Monsanto will attempt to patent a particular bee strain. Here is a recent article, although it does not talk about any patent efforts.
