No offense taken--you have a good point. Cobain really hated being famous; all he wanted to do was make good music and be himself. Nirvana became famous seemingly overnight (though they'd been working in relative anonymity/obscurity for years). It was the whole "music marketing" thing that depressed him so deeply.

ETA: That and the fact that he'd had a host of other issues to boot (drug addiction, being married to CLove, etc.)
