This has nothing to do with censorship or being PC. It's all about publicity. If No Doubt were truly sensitive and aware of what would offend a culture, it would've never occurred to them to do a video this stupid in the first place.

The whole thing about not offending people isn't about people being too sensitive. It's about people communicating effectively. When I was in college--the first one before I transferred--we were the Indians. Our red mascot had a huge nose and ran around with a tomahawk to scalp an effigy of the other team's mascot, while the school band played a powwow-type theme. I am 1/4 Cherokee and was born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. I wasn't really offended so much as I thought the people who participated in it were complete and total morons. But thinking back, the way they made that mascot so ugly with his huge nose was sort of like the way the Nazis portrayed Jews in their propaganda. Anyway, the university's mascot recently changed to the red wolf. The red wolf used to roam the land around here, but it is now extinct in our area.

My opinion was that the mascot should have been the Skeeters, since with all the rice fields around here, those vicious bastards make life a living hell in the summer. Don't you want your team mascot to be intimidating?

Also, I'd be really interested to know if the ones that were offended, were actually Native American.

However, if some were, and voiced their opinion about it and No Doubt cared that they had offended someone and pulled it. Good for them.

The song is awful, the video is awful, and they just got a TON of free press about it. Golf clap.
