Lil Wayne Is In ICU After Suffering More Seizures (UPDATE)
UPDATE: TMZ reports he is in critical condition but is stabilizing. They are also saying he's asleep, but before he conked out, he tweeted his fans saying that he's OK. Apparently Purple Drank gives you the power to sleep tweet. Lesson of the day kids, you shouldn't always rub a lil 'Tussin on it.
If you ask TMZ about Lil Wayne, they'll tell you he's in a coma right now and not doing well. If you ask his friend Mack Maine of Young Money/Cash Money about Lil Wayne, he'll tell you that TMZ is telling lies. First, here's TMZ's story...
TMZ says that Lil Wayne is in a coma at Cedars Sinai in L.A. and he's in a serious, serious way. Lil Wayne's family and friends have all shown up, because doctors aren't sure if he's going to pull through. Wayne's mom is currently flying to L.A. and apparently no decisions will be made about his health until she gets to the hospital.
Lil Wayne regularly suffers from seizures and on Tuesday night he was hospitalized after having a ton of seizures. Wayne was released on Wednesday, but he was back in the hospital that day after his bodyguard found him unconscious on the floor. Wayne was taken to the hospital again, but this time his condition was worse and they weren't able to control the seizures. They put him in ICU and had to restrain him to a bed, because he kept shaking. They put him in an induced coma and he's breathing through tubes.
The doctors found a whole lot of codeine in his system, so they think that Lil Wayne went wild and drank a pool full of Sizzurp when he got out of the hospital on Wednesday. There was so much Purple Drank in his body that they had to pump his stomach 3 times.
That's TMZ's story, but Mack Maine is tweeting something completely different:

I believe in redemption. At one point, RDJ was so high that he was showing up uninvited in people's homes and sleeping in their beds. So, he is not a smart man? Not talented?
Also, brilliant people make asinine decisions all the time. Clinton was a Rhodes scholar. Not always the best decision maker in his personal life. There are countless other examples.
Smart is related to innate ability. You either have a high IQ or you don't. Lil Wayne does.
Now, what he is choosing to do with that high IQ IS dumb. But he is by nature an intelligent man. And like RDJ, he could turn himself around. I am not willing to write him off at this point. But we can agree to disagree.

okay y'all here is what purple drank is: it's prescription cough syrup with codeine and promethazine. Sometimes it's even the syrup with vicodin in it. You mix a bunch of that with some sprite and a couple of jolly ranchers and you drink it. now drinking a little codeine, if you're a lightweight, will get you all toasty, but drinking high levels of it will fuck you up. promethazine has a tendency to give people akathisia, which is a sensation that you cannot stop moving and you just want to rip your skin away and crawl out of your own body. a lot like restless leg syndrome. And the worse your akathisia gets, the more crazy you can get. I'm going to guess that's what gave him the seizures, but i'm no fucking doctor, i just play one on the internets.

You have to ask for the cough syrup with DM because the youngins be drinking it to get high. They call it "robotrippin" and Dr. House says it makes you really stupid, though I would suggest that if you're drinking cough syrup to get high, you're already stupid. Not only that, if you don't possess the mad skills to get an adult to contribute to your delequency and buy you a proper bottle of MadDog, Cisco, or some equally fucked up alcoholic beverage...maybe you deserve to be lobotomized by cough syrup.
For an OTC high youll never forget nothing beats Benadryl! I took it one time some years ago to ease the STD I caught from the trees frolicking outside my window (also known as hay fever). I dont know what the freak happened, I didnt take any other drugs and I dont drink.alcohol, but that Benadryl had me crawling the walls! I was seeing pink elephants and hearing all kinds of voices and there was all kinds of shiz crawling on my arms--when I finally came down I threw the rest of the Benadryl out ASAP. Worst drug ever. Ive had kidney stones and had to be on morphine and RX opiates for that and that was mild compared to Benadryl.

Yeah, maybe. That's what I thought it was. I did see a *real* purple drank though, years ago. I was at an upscale dinner party where the snobby hosts had some expensive wine they were showing off about. One of the men there had brought a woman who was much younger than everyone else and kinda looked and dressed like a *slightly* less frightening version of Courtney Stodden. She got violently drunk before we sat down to eat and after the host had made a big show of sniffing the cork and was preparing to pour the wine, she yanked her wine glass away & started squealing and giggling and she pulled a big plastic tumbler like kids carry to school, out of her purse and it was FULL OF PURPLE DRANK which she proceeded to chug!! Hahahaha..that caused quite a stir.

I don't feel sorry for him in the least bit, but I don't wish harm upon him. He is an idiot like anyone abusing drugs. He knows what he is doing, that it can kill you, that it's killed performers who made that shit popular.
I'd feel sorry for his kids, but a father living a codeine abusing life is probably a shitty father and purely a piggy bank to his offspring. I doubt the piggy bank goes away even after he is deceased. If anything, it will be even more padded. You know, spike in sells from all of his sudden fans who can't believe someone so young and such a bright star is gone.
Do a little research on epilepsy. It causes substance abuse or better yet a high percentage of epileptics abuse drugs. That's just the way it is. He's had more than two seizures so he's an epileptic. I'm speaking from experience I have temporal lobe epilepsy. I feel for him seizures aren't fun and the whole psychiatric symptoms that come along with it suck.
On another note people who suffer from TLE tend to write a lot. That could be why he has written so many songs. I'm not saying Wayne has that form of epilepsy but if he does that sure explains a lot.
